Terms of Service
These terms apply when you use Thriftshot, a service that turns photos of clothing into listing images. By using it or creating an account, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.
1. Who we are
Thriftshot is run by Artsiom Halachkin. Contact: art.nmk129@gmail.com.
2. The service
You upload photos of your own items. We remove the background, place the item on a backdrop at a marketplace size, and, if you choose an AI finish (neat flat-lay or ghost mannequin), an AI model redraws the garment. Thriftshot is an early version: features can change, and the service may sometimes be unavailable.
3. Accounts
You need an account for more than the one free photo. You must be at least 18. Keep access to your email and Google account secure; you are responsible for what happens in your account. One person, one account.
4. Credits
- One credit makes one image. New accounts get free credits; the number is shown when you sign up.
- If an image fails, its credit is returned automatically.
- If an AI finish does not pass our check, you get your photo on the backdrop instead, and you can retry that image once for free. Further retries cost one credit each.
- Credits have no cash value and can't be transferred or exchanged for money.
- Paid credits are not available yet. When they are, prices, VAT and your right of withdrawal will be set out here and at checkout before you pay.
5. Your photos and images
- Your photos and the images made from them stay yours. You may use the images for any purpose, including selling.
- You give us permission to process your photos only to provide the service: to make your images, store them for 30 days if you are signed in, and show them to you. See the Privacy Policy.
- You may only upload photos you have the right to use, of items, not of people. Don't upload anything illegal, sexual, violent or that infringes someone else's rights. The full rules are in our Acceptable Use Policy.
6. AI results: check before you list
AI can make mistakes. Our check compares each AI edit with your photo and rejects ones that change the item, but it can miss things. Before you list an item, make sure the image matches the real item: logos, text, colours, details and any flaws. Marketplaces require photos that show the real item and its condition, and you are responsible for your listings.
Images made with an AI finish (neat flat-lay or ghost mannequin) are marked as AI-edited in the image file's metadata, as EU law requires for images substantially changed by AI. Photos you get “as photographed” only have their background replaced and are not marked. Don't remove the marking, and follow each marketplace's rules on AI-edited photos.
7. Fair use
Don't try to get around the limits (for example several accounts or scripts to get more free photos), overload or attack the service, or copy or resell it. We may suspend accounts that do, and refuse service where needed to protect the service or other users.
8. Liability
We provide the service with reasonable care, but as an early version and without a promise that it will always be available or error-free. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses such as lost sales. Nothing in these terms limits your rights as a consumer under mandatory law, or our liability for intent or gross negligence.
9. Ending
You can stop using Thriftshot at any time and ask us to delete your account. We may end or change the service with reasonable notice to signed-in users.
10. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by Czech law. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live. For a consumer dispute you can turn to the Czech Trade Inspection Authority (Česká obchodní inspekce, coi.cz) for out-of-court resolution.
11. Changes
If we change these terms, we update the date at the top and tell signed-in users about important changes before they apply.
